The Department of Media and Information was recognized as being ranked 11th in the US and 16th in the world on the subject of Media Studies according to the 2018 QS World University Subject report. Our Department was also recognized in 2018 as 7th and 8th in North America for Top Schools for Video Game Design by the Princeton Review for its Bachelor’s and Master’s degree program offerings respectively. The Department of Media and Information also shared with other units in the College of Communication Arts and Sciences in the recognition of ranking 2nd in the U.S. for its doctoral program by The Chronicle of Higher Education.
Michigan State University ranks 82nd in World University Rankings according to the Times Higher Education based on institutions in 144 countries worldwide. MSU is also tied for 75th among the world’s top 100 universities according to U.S. News and World Report. The university is also ranked 35th among public universities by the U.S. News and World Report. MSU was also ranked 3rd on a global list of top universities for Innovation Management in a study that appeared in the Journal of Product Innovation; MSU was the only Big Ten institution ranked in the top 10.
